Who Are

Little Munchkins began when two determined ladies, Amanda Greenway and Samantha Peasland shared the same vision and put their ideas into practice and made the setting together.

In March 2014, they first opened their doors as Little Munchkins Childminding Service at Clarkes Row, Chard. Little Munchkins Childcare CIC has been based at Chard Youth Centre since January 2016, and offers high quality childcare in a safe and stimulating environment. There are currently a total of ten members of staff with a wide range of qualifications and experience. The nursery has carefully planned areas designed to promote learning in a fun way.

We open from 7.30 to 5.30 all year round, for children aged from 3 months and up. We offer school holiday cover for children up to 7 years old. We only close for a week at Christmas and bank holidays. We pride ourselves on flexibility for working parents, only charging for the nearest quarter of an hour for their childcare needs.

About Our

Our qualified and experienced team are registered to provide care for up to 30 children. Our ratios follow the national guidance.

1 staff member : 3 babies

1 staff member : 4 toddlers

1 staff member ; 8 pre-school aged children

Each child will be assigned a keyworker who will work closely with parents to monitor the children's development, however all staff will work closely as a team to ensure this.

Little Munchkins is a colourful and welcoming setting to meet the needs of our children aged from 3 months. We offer both indoor and outdoor learning experiences, ensuring all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage are promoted through daily activities.

Little Munchkins is made up of our under 2's unit, pre-school room and a safe outdoor environment. Each area has specially designated staff that work closely with the children to maintain continuity for them. Both areas offer planned activities to create a varied environment for the children that meets their individual needs and interests.

Outdoor learning is an essential part of a child's learning experience and offers children an exciting natural space to explore.
